Journey

2018 is here and boy is it exciting! It’s like turning over to the next chapter of a book you’re really engrossed in and you can’t wait to see what happens next.

The end of last year ( lol, we can say that now) had a lot of us talking about all the things we would leave behind in 2017 as we carry the good vibes on to the new year, but how about those things we are carrying forward? Every journey needs some supplies and so does the one into a new year. Humor me as I share with you some of the things that I am definitely carrying on into 2018.

OLA!

I am hoping that you are all well, it has been a while.

We are at the end of 2017, Imagine THAT! I don’t think any year will pass me by without making me think that it went by waaaaay too fast! Where does the time go?

The last time I did a post like this was in FEBRUARY ( I am quite embarrassed actually) and seeing as we are at the end of the year, I figure taking stock for the whole year makes more sense.

Have you ever wanted to escape?

To run away from it all?

From the hustle and bustle? The pressure and the stress?

To just ran away because you don’t want to deal at that particular moment?

To take a break, to relax, to have time for YOU?

To have time for you without having to do your EYEBROWS! (Bruh, the struggle is real! Lol)

It is a letter to heaven but addressed to just one.

The third or fourth of its kind that I have penned down.

A letter to the one who gave me life and led me through it for 20 years.

An open letter to the one whose role I now play, 4 years later.

4 years, it has been 4 years but it only feels like yesterday.

An open letter to my queen in heaven, the one I called mom.

We had cake in our mouths, lol

To know, is to know that you know nothing. That is the meaning of true knowledge . – Socrates

I don’t know about you, but that is quite deep.

However, I agree that acceptance of the lack of knowledge is indeed true knowledge.

It is the logic that informs why it is wise to ensure that you surround yourself with people smarter than yourself, for in a setting as such, there can only be acquiring of new knowledge and growth.

You should never feel too comfortable with knowing that you are the smartest among a group of people,

infact,

that may be cause for alarm.

You will indeed be failing yourself.

How time flies.

In a few days, we will be having her memorial service.

A full year has gone by…another one.

Yet another year that we wish would have been spent in her presence.

Another year of hows and what ifs. A year of tears and laughter. Another year of sadness and happiness. All the motions that we only wish we would have gone through with her by our side.

I have not cried in a while. I forced myself to forget but also, apparently, it does get better in time.

Why not #TembeaKenya to a county you have never been to? A weekend away with friends, good food, laughter, love and a whole lot of new memories?

My thirst for travel is real and I think I am rubbing it off on my friends. I can’t seem to sit still and after Ethiopia, I still felt like I was not done. I was not “balling” enough to travel out of the country but I needed to scratch. I was itching for new adventure, new lands, I was itching to travel.

I reached out to my friend Vanessa and laid it down for her, there were no options, it was Travel or Travel. I got the ball rolling and she got the plans in place. Nyandarua county was not ready for the 10 eager young adults coming it’s way.

Only though, WE were NOT ready for Nyandarua county!!!
